CUTTER

SCOTT PARK

Writer, Director, DP

Growing up in the drizzly Pacific Northwest, introvert Scott Park pursued indoor, solo activities. His mother encouraged his creative side and fostered a permanent love for the arts. Ever restless, over the years he has enjoyed drawing, painting, sculpting, music, and writing.

In 2005, he turned his attention to film. He began film school as a writer/director but a botched project motivated him to look into cinematography. Loving the combination of creative and technical, he found it to be the perfect outlet. Halfway through school he switched from writing and directing to cinematography. Since then he has shot more than 40 short film projects and two features, including Hoax (2019) and Rent-A-Pal (2020).

Remembering a favorite quote, "Learn the rules so you can break them effectively", he has begun exploring the idea of subversive cinematography -- purposely breaking the rules for a greater effect than following them. Wanting to showcase that idea, he returned to writing and directing. In 2020 he wrote a feature, Cutter. And in 2025 he completed a short version of the project.

DANE PETERSON

Executive Producer

After years of working in and around Los Angeles as a cinematographer, Dane moved back home to Denver.

While working on the feature Rent-A-Pal, Dane got bit by the producing bug. Impressed with Jon Stevenson’s smart script -- which made excellent use of on-hand resources -- Dane decided to take on producing his own project. Scott Park offered to write something smallish in scope but with a unique voice. The result was Cutter.

Dane likes puppies.
